Burger King Burns Offer To Paris Hilton
30 August 2004
On the eve of the release of Paris Hilton's first CD, Paris Is Burning,
she may not actually be burning, but she is probably at least char-broiled
after word that Burger King may be backing out of an offer to feature her
in its new advertising campaign. Advertising Age is reporting on its web
site that franchisees had complained about The Simple Life's star being
associated with the family fast-food chain. "Given the extreme baggage she
carries, it was killed," an executive close to the company told the trade
publication, referring presumably to the porn tape of her that has been
circulating on the Internet. However, another Burger King executive said
that the campaign was killed because of "timing issues."
Hilton's "Lost" Dog Was with Grandparents
27 August 2004
Paris Hilton's desperate search for her lost dog Tinkerbell could have
been avoided if the hotel heiress had a better memory - she'd forgotten
her pooch was staying with her grandparents. The star of reality TV show
The Simple Life dropped the dog off at her relatives and subsequently lost
all recollection of the event, forcing her to believe it had gone missing.
It was only after Tinkerbell's plight started gaining publicity that the
grandparents' housekeeper called and reminded the socialite where her
pooch was, reports website Pagesix.Com. Hilton offered a $5,000 reward for
the dog's return after it went 'missing' earlier this month.
Lohan's Dad Slams Daughters Reps
26 August 2004
Teen actress Lindsay Lohan's father has slammed his daughter's
representatives, accusing them of keeping him away from his daughter for
more than two months. Over the weekend, Michael Lohan enjoyed a tearful
reunion with the 18-year-old Freaky Friday star at Hollywood hotspot Koi,
where they were joined by the actress' boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama and
hotel heiress Paris Hilton. Michael, who is separated from Lindsay's
manager-mother Dina, has a long list of legal woes, stemming from several
assault charges, but he's been particularly hurt by the lack of access
he's been allowed to have to his own child. He says, "Her mother, Dina,
and I have tried to distance her from it. Disney and other studios have
such an investment in her. However, I feel her employees shouldn't try to
keep her away from me. She didn't even know I had come to visit her on the
set until I told her later." Michael says he told his daughter, "I've
wanted nothing to do with your career other than see you happy. You mother
can have all the fame and glory. I just want to be your best friend." He
says Lindsay responded, "You've always been my best friend. I just don't
want any more of this arguing."
Hilton Gets Tinkerbell Back
19 August 2004
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton's search for her beloved Chihuahua Tinkerbell
is over, after the pooch was found alive. A distraught Hilton, who was
often seen carrying Tinkerbell in her arms as she went about her daily
life, initially offered a $1,000 reward, which was quickly upped to a
$5,000 payment for the dog's return, after it went missing last week.
Hilton's publicist Tracy Shaffer has confirmed that Tinkerbell was found
alive, but has not revealed where the dog was found, what condition the
pooch is in, or if the reward was claimed. Posters carrying Tinkerbell's
picture still adorn many lampposts around the West Hollywood area, near
the home Hilton is renting, which was recently burglarized. Neighbors, who
helped in the search, had feared a coyote attacked Tinkerbell. It's
unclear how the dog managed to get away.
Hilton Marriage Was a Cheap Affair
19 August 2004
Nicky Hilton's surprise weekend wedding to tycoon Todd Andrew Meister had
even more surprises than at first announced it was a cheap affair. Despite
the fact Hilton is the daughter of hotel tycoon Rick Hilton and the groom
is worth a staggering $100 million, the couple didn't spend a fortune on
the nuptials in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 20-minute ceremony cost just $230
and the couple wore cheap $30 rings. Meanwhile, Hilton's socialite sister
Paris Hilton walked her sibling down the aisle and then chose Whitney
Houston's "I Will Always Love You" for the newlyweds' first dance.
Hilton's Mother Wanted Formal Wedding
18 August 2004
Hotel heiress Nicky Hilton surprise Las Vegas marriage to Todd Andrew
Meister has disappointed her mother Kathy - because she wanted to hold a
lavish, formal wedding for her daughter. In the early hours of Sunday
Nicky, 20, married New York businessman Meister, 33, at the Las Vegas
Wedding Chapel, in the presence of her sister Paris Hilton and actress
Bijou Phillips. Nicky's father Rick, who was not present at the impromptu
ceremony, says, "Todd exudes a great warmth and personality. He is a
longtime friend of the family and is loved by all of us. He is a Harvard
(University) graduate and a successful businessman and Kathy and I welcome
him into our family. Kathy would have loved to plan a formal wedding, yet
Nicky opted for a small, quiet ceremony." And while the news was expected,
Kathy isn't shocked that her daughter chose to marry so young. Kathy, who
was just 19 when she married Rick 24 years ago, says, "We were having
lunch and Nicky said, 'You know, Mom, this psychic came up to me in Hawaii
and said, "You will be married when you're 26 and he will either be a Leo
or a Sagittarius." And she said, '26? That's too old!' And I said, 'Nicky,
not everybody gets married like dad and I." The psychic apparently got
half of her prediction right - Meister is a Sagittarian.
Paris Bares All on Shopping Spree
17 August 2004
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton caused chaos when she reportedly exposed her
breasts during a shopping spree in Los Angeles. The 23-year-old socialite
popped into an expensive boutique to buy a new shirt - but was disgusted
at the length of the queue for the changing rooms. Refusing to wait in
line, the sexy star tried on her new garment in the middle of the shop,
forgetting she wasn't wearing a bra and revealing her bust to a crowd of
shocked onlookers. A source tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "It was
hilarious. No-one could believe it. She simply whipped off her tiny
T-shirt, even though she wasn't wearing a bra, and just put the shirt on.
Men were gasping! She merely threw her card at staff and said she'd settle
up later. Then she left her T-shirt on the floor and headed out wearing
her latest buy." The Simple Life reality TV star split from her Backstreet
Boy boyfriend Nick Carter last month and has recently been linked with
Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.
Nicky Hilton Confirms "Real, Meaningful" Marriage
17 August 2004
A "glowing" Nicky Hilton has confirmed TV reports she wed her money
manager Todd Andrew Meister on Sunday morning amidst a host of famous
friends. The hotel heiress and socialite, 20 - sister of reality TV star
Paris - married Meister, 33, at the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel in Nevada's
Sin City at 2.30am after an 18-month courtship. Hilton's spokesman Elliot
Mintz says, "They're happy and doing well. This is a real, meaningful,
loving relationship. They are glowing." Nicky's sister Paris Hilton, best
friend Bijou Phillips, actress Tara Reid, 'N Sync singer Lance Bass and
That '70s Show star Danny Masterson were among the wedding party. Mintz
says the newlyweds are back home in Los Angeles where they plan to
honeymoon in a local hotel and are planning where to honeymoon.
Nicky Hilton's Las Vegas Marriage
16 August 2004
Sexy socialite Nicky Hilton married a New York money manager in an
unplanned Las Vegas ceremony on Sunday according to court filings.
American TV show Access Hollywood said Nicky, 20, married Todd Andrew
Meister, 33, at the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, in the presence of her
Simple Life star sister Paris Hilton and actress Bijou Phillips. Nicky and
Paris were in town for a Stuff magazine party at the Palms Casino Resort,
where they were joined by reality TV star Nicole Richie for an evening
meal on Saturday. The resort's owner George Maloof confirmed the ceremony
had taken place, but was shocked because the couple gave no indication of
their plans.
Hilton Towers
11 August 2004
The finale of The Simple Life 2, starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie,
produced strong ratings for Fox among 18-49-year-olds, as it ranked first
in that key demo last week with a 4.6 rating and a 13 share, but the show
came in at No. 12 among overall households as CBS again dominated the week
in total audience. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation retained its usual
top-rated position with a 9.6/16. Its spin-off, CSI: Miami placed second
with an 8.6/14 (tied with its lead-in show, Two and a Half Men). In all,
CBS again captured eight of the top ten positions, while NBC took the
other two. Nevertheless, ratings for all the broadcast networks were
typically abysmal for the summer rerun season, with CBS winning the week
with a puny 5.9/11, followed by NBC with a 4.5/8. ABC placed third with a
3.6/7, followed close behind by Fox, which recorded a 3.3/6. (Viewers are
expected to return to their sets beginning Friday, with the start of the
Summer Olympics.) Meanwhile on cable, the finale of USA's The 4400, about
4,400 alien abductees who return to earth, attracted an out-of-this-world
6.1 million viewers -- more than any other show on cable.
The top ten shows of the week according to Nielsen Research: 1. CSI: Crime
Scene Investigation, CBS, 9.6/16; 2. CSI: Miami, CBS, 8.6/14; 2. (Tie) Two
and a Half Men, CBS, 8.6/14; 4. Everybody Loves Raymond, CBS, 8.0/13; 5.

CBS, 7.0/13; 7. (Tie) Law and Order: SVU, NBC, 7.0/12; 9. Amazing Race: 5,
CBS, 6.6/11; 10. Law and Order: Criminal Intent, NBC, 6.4/11.

Hilton in New Internet Wrangle
10 August 2004
Paris Hilton appears to be winning the battle with Hilary Duff's older
sister Haylie Duff over the single "Screwed," after the hotel heiress'
version was leaked onto the internet. Both have recorded the same song,
and while they were figuring out how to proceed, Hilton's version has now
been put online after it was aired on the radio. Last month, Duff
announced she was attempting to block Hilton from releasing the track,
explaining, "Paris has talked to the people who wrote the song, and I
think it's all under control now." Duff also said she planned to release
her own version by early August, but now Hilton has inadvertently beaten
to her to it. Hilton's spokesperson Gina Hoffman says, "It's not something
we put out. It's a leak. And that's really disturbing." Hoffman adds that
Hilton doesn't have a release date for her debut album Paris Is Burning
yet, or even a distribution deal in place, so the release is too early to
promote the record. The version making the rounds on the internet was
recorded from a radio station's airing. Duff's spokespeople have yet to
comment on whether her plans will change in light of the leak. Hilton
recently suffered more embarrassing problems on the internet, when a video
tape featuring her and ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon surfaced and became an
instant international hit.
Hilton's Burglary Trauma
9 August 2004
Socialite sisters Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton have had thousands of
dollars of jewelry stolen from their Hollywood home. Nicky, 19, discovered
their Los Angeles apartment had been ransacked by thieves - who made off
with a laptop computer, cash and jewelry worth thousands of dollars - when
she returned to the pad on Thursday. When asked what was missing, Paris
said, "Everything. All my valuables. All my jewelry. All my money." The
sisters were renting the home and are looking forward to next month when
they will move into one with better security.
Fed Up Carter Speaks Out About Hilton's Mystery Bruises
4 August 2004
Backstreet Boys hunk Nick Carter has chosen to speak out himself against
reports he beat ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton, after becoming fed up with the
constant gossiping. Hotel heiress Hilton set tongues wagging last week
when she was seen out and about in Los Angeles with bruises on her arm and
lip. Almost immediately, rumors were spread that her pop singer ex was
responsible for it. And while Carter has denied the allegations through
his lawyer Marty Singer, he's now chosen to set the record straight by
talking about it himself. He tells American TV show Entertainment Tonight,
"If they need the media attention, let them do their thing. My family,
friends and fans know that this is not my character and I would never hurt
anyone that I cared for or do anything like the malicious things they are
claiming. The truth will come out." Hilton herself is remaining
tight-lipped about the bruising.
Hilton Pressure Taking Its Toll on Carter
3 August 2004
Pop singer Nick Carter broke down in tears during a reunion with his
Backstreet Boy bandmates in Los Angeles on Friday - after he was quizzed
over ex-lover Paris Hilton's shocking bruises. The hitmaker has rubbished
speculation that he was responsible for Hilton's injuries, which were
discovered after she was spotted with a swollen lip and bruised arms at
Hollywood's Concord Club last Wednesday. The couple split on July 22
following a seven month romance which many believed would end in marriage.
Carter struggled to regain his composure as he and bandmates AJ McLean,
Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson worked on new material at a recording
studio. He finally snapped after a passer-by berated him over the alleged
incident. He ran to his car and was photographed sobbing with his head in
his hands. One onlooker tells website Popstarinsider.Com: "Suddenly it got
very intense. I won't go there with what happened, but the situation was
sad. Next things we knew, Nick was in his car crying. I was about to cry
too!" Hilton has refused to confirm Carter's explanation that she received
the injuries during an S&M photo shoot.
Hilton Threatened with Lawsuit
2 August 2004
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been threatened with a lawsuit, after
failing to pay two electricians for $3,995 worth of work carried out at
her Los Angeles home. When the socialite moved into her pad, she claimed
it was unsafe for her to live there, due to the absence of locks on the
front door and blinds on the windows. So the reality TV star called Barak
and Tali Ben Shaul, a husband-wife electrician team. The couple quickly
went to work on Hilton's house, even though they generally don't do locks
and blinds. And normally, the Ben Shauls say they would ask for a big down
payment, but because this was Hilton, they made an exception. They
installed motion light sensors and locks and put in blinds. The final bill
came out to $3,995. The Ben Shauls say they've since sent out many bills
and made dozens of calls, but never received payment from Hilton. Barak
tells American TV show Celebrity Justice, "Basically, I never thought
something like this would happen. It's been, what, since December of last
year. Nobody cares. We're small. If I was Ashton Kutcher, I would get my
money in a second, I can assure you that." Tali adds, "We're not that
important in this town. It just makes me feel bad. And I just want to get
my money back. And please, as soon as possible. We've been waiting long
enough." The Ben Shauls say that if they don't get paid soon, they will
file a lawsuit.
