Hilton Family Moves to Beverly Hills
29 July 2004
Paris Hilton's hotelier parents Kathy and Rick Hilton are vacating their
suite at New York's Waldorf-astoria to return to Los Angeles. Kathy and
Rick will relocate to Beverly Hills with their two sons Baron and Conrad,
joining daughters Paris and Nicky Hilton, who already live in the sunnier
state of California. Hilton representative Catherine Saxton tells American
gossip site Pagesix.Com, "Los Angeles is where they belong. They are LA
people. Both of their families are in Los Angeles and their daughters,
Paris and Nicky, are also living there. Rick's real-estate business is
expanding and he is currently doing a deal with Christie's International
to handle its exclusive properties." Saxton dismissed speculation that the
Waldorf asked the Hiltons to leave their suite because management was
upset that Kathy is starring in NBC reality TV show The Good Life. A
source says, "Originally The Good Life contestants were supposed to stay
at the Waldorf. Kathy assumed it would be ok, but management had a fit."
The ten young female contestants - who will be taught by Hilton to fit
into high society - will now be staying at New York's Melrose hotel.
Paris Hilton and Nick Carter Split
26 July 2004
Socialite Paris Hilton has split from her boyfriend of seven months,
boyband star Nick Carter. A spokeswoman for the hotel heiress blames her
busy schedule for the breakup, but insists it was amicable. A statement
from Backstreet Boy Carter reads, "I want to be free to date other people,
and I got tired of the rumors surrounding our relationship and the
constant on and off status." The singer also confesses he went out and
celebrated with his friends "immediately after the breakup took place,"
adding, "This is the prime of my life, I'm back in the studio with the
guys (Backstreet Boys) and about to go on tour." After an extended break
from the charts, the Backstreet Boys begin touring in September and a new
album will be released in the autumn.
Chad Michael Murray Engaged
15 July 2004
Freaky Friday hunk Chad Michael Murray has disappointed his hordes of
female admirers by announcing his engagement. The 22-year-old actor asked
Sophia Bush - his co-star in American TV show One Tree Hill - to marry him
two months ago when she went to visit him in Australia, where he was
shooting House Of Wax alongside Paris Hilton. Murray had already asked
22-year-old Bush's parents' permission when he treated her to a day at the
spa followed by shopping and dinner before taking his girlfriend of less
than a year back to their hotel. There, he got down on one knee and
presented a stunning diamond ring he had helped design with a local
jeweler. He says, "I couldn't bring her home until the sun went down
because I had 500 candles and 20 bouquets of roses set up. Then I had this
big light stands on a tennis court with a message (spelled out) to her
that you could see looking down from the balcony of our 18th-floor
penthouse." Bush's parents have already made all of the arrangements for
the ceremony, which will take place next year. Murray coos, "She's
perfect. She keeps me inspired, and she compliments me very well. She's a
neat freak, and I'm dirty. I can't help it. I wrestle with the dogs every
day. We watch football on the weekends and keep our life to ourselves."
Hilton Settles Lawsuit with famous Tape Co-Star
13 July 2004
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton and ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon have allegedly
ended their legal battle over their infamous tapes. The Simple Life
reality TV star has accepted the humiliation caused by Salomon - who
videotaped and marketed their saucy romp - in return for a cut of the
profits, reports American website New York Daily News. A close source
claims Salomon and film company Red Light District Video have agreed to
pay the blonde beauty more than $400,000 and a percentage of the sales of
their release One Night In Paris - Salomon has consequently dropped a
lawsuit which accused Hilton and her representatives of defaming him.
Salomon's lawyer, Marty Singer, confirmed the settlement but wouldn't
discuss "the terms of the arrangement." Hilton's friend argues, "Paris is
certainly not capitalizing on the tape. She has insisted that an ample
portion of the proceeds are donated to charity."
