Hilton Wriggles Out of Speeding Fines

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton boasts she often manages to get away from
having to pay up for speeding offenses - because most of the policemen who
stop her want to take her out to dinner. The party-loving blonde, 23,
admits she's quite a fast driver when she's on the road, but rarely gets
into trouble - unless she's stopped by a female cop. She says, "I always
get out it. The cop always ends up giving me his business car and saying,
'Let's go to dinner tonight.' But I never call them. I got a few tickets
from girl cops though."
Paris Hospitalized After Falling from Horse

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton had to be airlifted to a Tampa, Florida,
hospital on Friday afternoon after falling off a horse. The infamous
socialite-turned-reality TV star was thrown from the animal during the
taping of The Simple Life 2 - the sequel to her hit series with Nicole
Richie. Show spokesman Chris Alexander confirms Hilton was injured, but
insists she was walking around after the accident. Camera crews were
taping the socialite in action when she was thrown by the horse.
Hilton Gets Behind the Wheel

The brains behind Paris Hilton's hit sitcom The Simple Life have hit a
snag as they plan a road trip sequel - the socialite's sidekick can't
drive. The hotel heiress and her pal Nicole Richie are planning to drive
across America in a pink pick-up truck as part of a new series, staying
only in trailer parks en route. Hilton explains, "Nicole can't drive. She
doesn't have a license. So I guess I'll be doing all the driving."
Meanwhile, when Hilton has completed her new "Thelma & Louise trek", she
will take over as the new spokesmodel for Guess Jeans. She adds, "I've
been a Guess girl ever since I was little and this is a dream come true."
J.Lo and Marc Anthony's Romance Continues To Blossom

Singing couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are continuing to enjoy
their burgeoning romance - after a night out with hot new couple Naomi
Campbell and Tommy Lee. According to onlookers at Miami, Florida nightspot
Mynt, the pair were spotted sharing a table with the sexy supermodel and
her new rocker beau, who spent all night engaging in lusty antics.
Meanwhile, J.Lo - who split with fiance Ben Affleck in January - and her
Latin lover were much more reserved, holding hands and gazing lovingly at
each other. Other celebrities in attendance at the Florida club included
Paris Hilton and her Backstreet Boy beau Nick Carter.
Couric Decries Entertainment's Inroads Into News

Katie Couric said Thursday that CBS's decision to air a Michael Jackson
special on condition that Jackson appear on 60 Minutes for an interview
represented "a very slippery slope and an extremely dangerous enterprise."
Appearing on CNN's Larry King Live, Couric warned of "entertainment
divisions [of television networks] blending into news divisions." The
result, she said, is that "news has lost its purity. That's for sure." She
acknowledged that she herself has had misgivings about doing reports about
NBC shows on Today, including one recently about The Apprentice. "I guess
the best way to kind of navigate these waters is to look at the story and
say, 'is this attracting a lot of attention ... or are we just strictly
doing this to promote something?'" Speaking of the growing attention given
to celebrities on news and talk shows, Couric remarked, "When ...
everybody is freaking out over Paris Hilton, frankly, maybe you need to
sit back and say, 'Is this really the kind of journalism I want to do, or
would my time be better used covering an important issue that affects far
more people?"
Hilton Makes a Splash at the Oscars

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton embarrassed herself spectacularly on Saturday
when she gatecrashed a pre-Oscar bash and fell into a pool. The reality TV
star waltzed into the Lord Of The Rings pre-Academy Awards dinner at New
Line Cinema boss Bob Shaye's hilltop estate in Beverly Hills, California.
Hilton screamed, "Oh my God," as she splashed into a Japanese pool
carpeted in rose blossoms. After climbing out of the pond, Hilton
lamented, "God, I didn't see the pool. Why does he have a pool there? At
least I didn't go in the big pool." The sexy socialite - who hit the
headlines last year when a video tape of her having sex with former beau
Rick Solomon surfaced on the internet - managed to avoid damaging her
glitzy outfit, although she did get her Louis Vuitton shoes wet. She was
then overheard telling her sister Nicky on the phone, "Guess what? I just
fell into a little pond! It's soooo embarrassing." A bemused Shaye was
more baffled by Hilton's attendance, saying, "She wasn't even invited."
